any physicians who provide medical services to post-acute care facilities do so in addition to their work in their own practices and making hospital rounds. It’s because of this that it becomes understandable that their practices often take priority. It’s also understandable if returning calls to the facility might be put off until the end of a long day, or quick facility visits get squeezed into a busy week – or skipped.
The General Medicine Service is led by three consultant physicians. The team also includes other doctors and nurses, a dietitian, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist and a psychotherapist. The service sees patients with chronic and complex conditions. These are used alongside orthodox treatment, allowing them to offer a fully integrated General Medicine service.

  • Asia pacific Hospital internal medicine practice focuses on:
  • Comprehensive care  for people with undefined symptoms — such as shortness of breath, chest pain, abdominal pain and back pain — who need help in diagnosing their illness.
  • Collaboration which means we guide your care if you need the help of a surgeon or other physicians from Mayo Clinic's multidisciplinary team of specialized experts
  • Preventive medicine care  such as mammograms, Pap smears, routine colon cancer screening evaluations, cholesterol screening and blood pressure screening
  • Communication  with your local primary provider so that everyone involved understands the plan for ongoing care when you return home. This is especially important if you have one or more chronic medical illnesses — such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and emphysema
  • Comprehensive management  of medical needs for hospitalized patients, including preoperative evaluation of medical risks before surgery
